Winfrey is reportedly not in talks to host the Oscars according to it's President Tom Sherak. Sherak tells the Hollywood Reporter, "It's not true, and I don't know where that story even came from." "You have to remember how it works," Sherak explained of the hiring process. "First, I have to hire a producer, and then the producer comes to the Academy with suggestions for the host. So how could we have a host without a producer?" Sherak added, "The camera loves Oprah. Oprah's a genius." So what this really means is that someone in Oprah's camp or someone who really wants to see Oprah host the Oscars devised a plot to put Oprah's name in the suggestion box..after that point...who could deny Oprah?? |
